The Mathematics Department offers a large selection of courses in various areas of pure and applied mathematics, at different levels of mathematical sophistication. The Department offers Bachelor of Arts (BA) Majors and Honours programs in Mathematics and in Mathematics combined with another subject, such as Economics, English, Linguistics, Music, or Philosophy. Students who wish to enter any BA Mathematics Major/Combined Major/Honours program except the Combined Major/Honours program in Economics and Mathematics must complete the online application form.The application form opens between May 1 and May 20 each year. Decisions will be made at the end of May, and students will be notified about decisions by email. Completion of requirements will be confirmed before admission offers are made. Applicants to Combined programs should also consult the other department if its programs are not open to students for self-declaration. You may be required to submit a separate application to the other department. Applicants to the Combined Major/Honours program in Economics and Mathematics must apply directly through the Vancouver School of Economics. Students who have recently transferred to UBC may be asked to apply only after completing their first term at UBC. If you have questions, you may submit a query through the advising web form to the Mathematics Undergraduate Chair. Admission Requirements:Students applying for admission must complete at least 27 credits by the time of admission and also meet the following requirements.
