Elementary representation theory

Abstract: We describe recent work with Jon Carlson, Julia Pevtsova, and Andrei Suslin which utilizes algebraic geometry to study the modular representation theory of infinitesimal group schemes. This general class of group-like objects includes as a "special case" the group Z/p x Z/p which often becomes the focus of our efforts because of its elementary nature.
