Models of cell division in bacteria

Abstract: In order to properly divide, a cell must identify the appropriate location to build the division machinery, build it, and then use the machinery to generate a sufficient constriction force to pinch itself into two daughter cells. In this talk, I will discuss how bacteria cells accomplish the first and last of these steps and present models for each of these two stages.
